In the north we eat jack fruit as a cooked vegetable and pickle. Some people like its sweet taste. I don 't like its strong snmell and taste after it has ripened though.

Not a fruit I'm familiar with, I'm totally intrigued by those jack fruits which Wikipedia informs me tastes like tart bananas.
