THE THRILLS OF YOUNGSTERS

It is amazing to see how youngsters know how to enjoy their lives. Even simple things become a source of great entertainment for them. Their innovations, their enthusiasm, their energy, their daring, their excitement is something which is very contagious and always leaves me speechless.

Of course I was also like that when I was young. But some how over a period of time, I lost that child like enthusiasm, thrill and joy over little things. Now I take many things for granted and many things which excited me no longer holds any attraction for me.

Some might say that a person is as old as he thinks. Age is always in the mind. If a person thinks he is young then he is young and if he thinks he is old he is old. I fully agree with this line of thought. But can I do the things that these youngsters are doing? I am sure to break my neck.

  2. Brilliant post and photo's Joseph, I agree we may not be able to do the thing the youngsters are doing but we are as young as we feel.
What is age anyway, if one thinks they're old whatever age they are then they will act old.
I am all for living, we only have one life and I don't intend to waste it .

    Have a good week.
    Yvonne.

  3. Superb pictures, Joseph, and I really like the header. The beauty of being young is that they have no fear, they go about things without a care in the world which is wonderful. For us, we have learned that things can go wrong which makes us wary. But think of the wealth of experience you have, that they have yet to acquire, and ask yourself Would you REALLY want to do acrobats in the sea? Have a good week, Joseph.

  4. I loved this post, mainly because it is something that is close to my heart. I used to wonder about this aspect too, especially laughter, wonder why we laugh lesser as we grow older?
It brought Mark Twain's quote to mind "Dance like no one is watching. Sing like no one is listening. Love like you've never been hurt and live like it's heaven on Earth."

  5. Namaste.....
That is what life i suppose to be about "living" but somewhere along the way with the struggles, challenges and hardships some of us lose our joy and living takes a back seat to surviving.
Peace my friend, have a blessed week

  6. my dear friend, how have ou been.
These pictures are wonderful and i also wonder how these children manage not to hurt. Remember that your "body" is the only thing that ages. Your "Self" is awareness.

  10. Hi Joseph,
What a delightful post. Oh the grand memories of youth. I have heard it said that the joy a boy and a dog can have crossing a fresh mown field will outshine nearly anything an adult experiences.
My childhood was care free and is a constant memory in my older age. Great photos that capture so well the joy and energy of youth.
    God bless,
    Fred

  11. Yes sir,

I totally agree with you. Feeling young alone is not enough we have to be physically fit and active. Youngsters are daring and don't care of the outcome. I think even we used to be like that in most of the things if not all. At times it can be dangerous too. Which we think after certain age only. It is a good post anyways.

    Regards

  15. Good to see your celebration of youth. I like to see children enjoying themselves , this is the time of their lives. As we grow older , many time s our problems and sstresses increases and fun is only a memory. I encourage youngsters to enjoy life and play full and fair.

We are enjoying the FIFA world cup. Today 's match between ARG and S KOREA was thrilling with Argentina winning 4-1

  18. I enjoyed your post and the photos of the young kids was very nice. I think we reach a certain age, in your 70s and 80s you start to feel not so young. I have seen some people older than me (I an almost 77), pretty spry for that age. Have a nice week.
