  1. we each have our trials...experiencing the life of another often puts our own into perspective....though in the end we each still have our own trials...

  3. We definitely should count our blessings. In whatever situation we find ourselves, someone is probably worse off. Thanks for the reminder

  4. Hi Joseph,
    how are you?
True, I also keep remembering to thank God for all the things we have, and also pray for such people who have so little.
My father always thinks before he spends even 10 Rs., because he has seen hardships in his early life, and the money he has now is hard earned money: he knows the value of money. Having heard from him the struggles he had to go through in life, has always made me realize that, whatever we have now, we must never take it for granted and we must always be grateful for it.
A blog that really makes us think.

  7. These are images of people you don't often see on our tv screens.

Yes, we should count ourselves lucky that we don't have to struggle to earn a living. There is a lot of poverty in the world, yet most of the wealth in concentrated in the hands of few. Even in a relatively prosperous country like UK, the gap between rich and poor is widening at an alarming rate. There are various reasons for this. I believe that those who have been given much, more is expected.

  11. I am bgrateful to God for all His gifts. The poor around me don 't have anything to fall back on.Their living conditions are deplorable, when they fall ill they don 't have money to get treatment, after a back breaking hard day they cook a measly survivaql meal to share with the family, their children work as child labourers to pitch in to the family income.

  19. Hi Joseph! It has been a long absence, but things have been a bit hard: father 95, mother almost 91 doing radiotherapy, wife broke right elbow and I’m consuming some much needed holidays to take care of all this...

    But, it could be worse...

As far as Blogtrotter Two is concerned, it seems nobody is interested in St. Kitts, so maybe I should try something else. Anyhow, enjoy and have a great week or better a vacation, if still available!!!

  20. wow. You always have a way to put things in perspective for me. I have a friend who is getting teatments after beating Cancer. It was bad enough that it could come back. I think Of things like that and what you post and I feel lucky. Not in other peoples pain and struggle but just being aware of my gratefulness. At the Kadampa Center here we always pray fro people like this and my friend.
I'm grateful for our friendship too. Thank you again for the paper and hopefully you get my mail soon too. I sent you a little art. :)

  21. Joseph, while I was here I thought I'd read a little more. So true we do need to count our blessings. We too have similar pictures of what could be ones fate. I don't know if I am just noticing it, or there seems to be an increase in the population of street people. Many have been effected with the economy and lack of new jobs. I was hoping it would be the catalyst to bring people together and closer to GOD, but it seems to be having the adverse effect. Anyway I best stop before I get started. I can't go anywhere and just look I have to include a lengthy essay.
