GOD SAVED ME. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Few times in my life, I thought that death was imminent but I was saved miraculously by an invisible power. Consider the following incident in my life:

When I was studying in school in higher standards I used to go to the MARINA BEACH near the LABOR STATUE with my friends to play in the shallow waters of the BAY OF BENGAL. None of us knew swimming. But we had great fun running, jumping, pushing,wrestling,and falling in the cool waters of the sea. (Of course, we went there without the knowledge of our parents.)

One day, we went to the beach as usual. I took out my clothes faster than my friends and ran very excitedly into the shallow waters of the sea. Suddenly I fell in a deep ditch and instantaneously I was under the water unable to breathe. I thrashed my hands and legs. I was suffocating. Since I was young and strong my continuous frantic struggles and thrashing in the deep water brought me to the surface. I gasped for breath and desperately waved to my friends for help. I could see them laughing at me thinking I was playing a joke on them.

Again I went down. I struggled desperately and kicked my hands and legs to get out of the ditch. I knew I could not hold my breath much longer. I was surely going to die. No one is going to help me. My friends are having a good laugh at my desperate struggle for life.

While these thoughts were going on in my mind, all of a sudden a huge wave came and pushed me out of the ditch. And I found myself lying in the shallow waters once again gasping for breath and violently coughing with tears in my eyes. I sat quietly for sometime filling my lungs with the life giving oxygen, wiping tears from my eyes and blowing my nose. I couldn't believe I was alive. I thanked God for saving me from a watery grave. After some time I regained my composure and walked slowly towards my friends. They still laughed at me and told me that they are not foolish enough to believe my pranks.

Now tell me my dear friends is this not the hand of God that saved me from certain death.I would also like to hear if you have similar stories to tell.

  5. Mr Joseph, God 's hand was upon you and He saved your life.

    A similar thing happened to me on a picnic with my students. I nearly drowned and I felt someone push me towards shallow waters of the canal where I was learning how to swim.I know it was an angel.

    Our lives are in God 's hands. He is in control.

  7. Similar circumatsnces to yours, Joseph. I was a mere nipper when I was sucked under a huge wave in the sea. I remember struggling in the water, unable to find the floor beneath my feet, and feeling terrified. God chose to warn a rescuer of my difficulties and I lived to tell the tale.

    This is what we call an "under toe" Its a spot in the ocean were the water is moving in a direction that pulls you under in current. Its very dangerous and we all must keep an i on each other. Most beaches here have life guards on duty and sign posted is not. I'm amazed at how no one is wearing a "Bathing suite". Here in America woman wear bikinis. I suppose it's similar to Europe here. My son fell into a hole in the ocean while he was swimming with me. He was walking and just went under. I turned and could see him, I panicked and looked to see an arm and top of his head reaching up. I reached down instantly and pulled him up. He thanked me and we hugged. I suppose "God" like a parent had saved you that day. We will always take care of our children. With all that being said, I'm so Glad your life was saved and we converse.
    Enjoy all you days my friend.
    Melanie.

  11. Hi Joseph,
    Wow, what a hair raising story, one which your mother would hate to hear. I believe God intervenes in just such a way as you stated, and I'm sure that day will be forever etched in your memory.
    God bless,
    Fred

  12. Hi Joseph, I believe as you do. God is with us from the womb to the grave. Perhaps before and after these. The first I do not remember and the latter I have not experienced yet.

  15. Joseph, cannot agree more with you. We live by Grace and in Grace. This is my second life and on borrowed time. My 1st was supposed to be taken by an ugly hostile mob after a motor car accident years ago.

  16. Yes indeed Joseph, that was the gentle hand of God pushing a foolish young lad to shore. He knew you needed help and would thank him afterwords. When we are young and foolish we tend to rush in where Angles fear to tread, but God's hands are always there to pull us back. I am glad he saved you, for I have found a wonderful friend. Have a nice week.

    This entry reminds me of the song by William Cowper God Moves in Mysterious Ways

    God moves in a mysterious way
    his wonders to perform;
    He plants his footsteps in the sea,
    and rides upon the storm.

    Deep in unfathomable mines
    of never failing skill,
    He treasures up his bright designs
    and works his sovereign will.

    You fearful saints, fresh courage take;
    the clouds you so much dread
    Are big with mercy and shall break
    in blessings on your head.

    His purposes will ripen fast,
    unfolding every hour;
    The bud may have a bitter taste,
    but sweet will be the flower.

    Blind unbelief is sure to err
    and scan his work in vain:
    God is his own interpreter,
    and he will make it plain.

    Have a great day.....
    Thanks for stopping by, its always a pleasure.
    Stay blessed....
