WE MAKE A MOUNTAIN OUT OF A MOLE HILL

Most of us when confronted with a problem, we worry and magnify the problem so much that it starts to haunt us. We are so much obsessed with the problem that we cannot concentrate on our daily routine and always have a nagging feeling within us. We think our problem is too big for us handle and there is no solution for it. Sometimes we even lose our sleep over it.

But consider people affected by a psunami, people living in war torn areas, people ravaged by an earth quake. Many people lose their lives all of a sudden, many people are badly injured and maimed for life for no fault of theirs, many children are orphaned in no time and many lose all their property, entire life’s earnings and become destitutes in an instant.

When compared to these people, what is our problem? We still got our life, our property, our health, our family, our friends. Our mental faculties are intact not only to face the problem but also to find a solution. It is said – EVERY PROBLEM IS AN OPPORTUNITY.

Let us count our blessings and keep our chin up even when confronted with a problem which we think is insurmountable. We will always find a solution one way or the other.

  1. What you have said is very correct. We should not take anything for granted, we should enjoy every moment of our lives, and thank God for blessing us with all the goodness in our lives. Any second things can go wrong, leaving us helpless and totally destroyed.
When we see the conditions in Japan, we have only shock waves passing through us: other than praying , we can't do much, to be there for them physically. It is sad, but we know they are handling the crisis better than any other nation, and I salute them for that.
We can learn a lot from them.
I am confident that the land of the rising sun would always shine brightly, showing the right way to all of us. God Bless.

  4. Namaste.....
I love the photographs especially the blog one and the first on the post.

True we should always count our blessings no matter the circumstance however just because someone is worst of it means that it deminishes our worry over situations that is impacting our lives. The fact of the matter is there will always be someone better off and someone worst off that is the reality of life. It is not do comparisons about whose is worst or better but rather to see the light within the darkness of every moment and to remember to keep your head up even when you feel to hang it low in dispair.

    Peace...
    stay blessed

  8. Joseph, you took the idea right out of my mind. Not only that some worry about not having problems to worry about!!! Many more are impatient and want all of their lives to be unfolded before instead of living from day to day. I was a worry wart who would be sleepless over a menial problem. But not now, I just seize the day and live to the hilt. Tks Joseph, you are very insightful!

  9. hello friend!,
I was just talking to my mother about how you always find away to put things into perspective. It easy to get wrapped up in our minds with our own "problems" when we don't see other "worlds". OSHO talks about how we need to find a neutral mind. When we are happy we are up when we are down/sad/depressed we are low. It gives the mind a distraction. Mind likes something to think about. When we are neutral mind we are neither happy or sad. Some people are afraid of this state because there is a "no-thingness" to think about. I love a neutral mind . The "silent". its a freedom from being attached to any mind thought. When I'm in my studio painting/creating I'm of Neutral mind.

  10. That is very true. Many times we complain at the slightest discomfort when others are living with pain 10 times greater.
May God help us count our blessings

  11. Jesus said about the pre-tribulation times: "You will hear of wars and rumours of wars; see and do not be alarmed. These have to come, but it is not the end yet. For nation will rise against nation, and realm against realm; there will be famines and earthquakes here and there. All that is but the beginning of the trouble." (Matthew 24:6-8)

That prophecy could apply to our current times! I think we live in troubled times when wars and natural disaters seem to be happening with increasing frequency.

  20. You are absolutely right, we do dwell on certain problems too much and let them aggravate our lives to the point we can't concentrate on anything else. Also we should think of people less fortunate then us and sometimes we can help these people, very good post.

  23. Yes, Joseph, we will find a solution, or a solution will find us! When I face a problem that I find myself worrying about, fretting over, or losing sleep over, I remind myself that in every other situation like that in the past, God and life have always brought me what I needed when I needed it most. And I also try to distract myself with other thoughts and activities. Usually for me, it's just a matter of breaking the cycle of the worried thought patterns, and pretty soon I start to feel better.

I hope all is well in your life, dear Joseph! I'm sorry it's been so long since my last visit!

    God bless you my friend!

    Warmly,
    Mel :)
