IT IS CHRISTMAS TIME IN THE CITY.

Christmas is fast approaching. The city of Kochi is decked up with a riot of colors. The shops have started selling stars, cribs, trees, decorative lights, Santa Clause etc. The is a rush for buying these things for decorating the houses, offices and institutions, churches, parks etc.

Christmas is the most colorful festival in India.  A time for joy, merriment, carols, feasting, dancing etc. because Jesus Christ, Son of God, was born in this world in human form to save mankind from eternal damnation. Actually, after our first parents, Adam and Eve, sinned against God and were thrown out of Paradise, God did not abandon mankind. HE sent several Prophets to guide us. However, man continued to live in sin. Finally God sent HIS only begotten Son to save mankind so that those who believed in HIM will be rewarded with eternal happiness in Heaven and others will be damned to everlasting suffering in Hell.

Here are some photos from Kochi for your visual pleasure.

How is your city decked up for Christmas? It will be interesting to know.

  6. My city is a Christmas-mad! :-) I didn't grow up with the Christmas tradition but with the Christmas Eve one on account of a Catholic grandmother. As an atheist I focus more on this time of the year as a period to share with family and give to people: give love, give time, give respect, give a little bit of yourself, your human self. :-)

    Greetings from London.

  8. I agree with your first 2 commentors. My town is nowhere near as colorful, although it is moreso at night with all the lights. Wonderful pictures Joseph.

  10. It is absolutely colorful, you have captured them well.
However, I don't quite agree with " those who believed in HIM will be rewarded with eternal happiness in Heaven and others will be damned to everlasting suffering in Hell."
People who sin too are part and parcel of God, and they sin for reasons not known to them or to any of us, being God he is always forgiving his children, just as we as parents are forgiving to our childrens' wrong doings.
Merry Christmas and a Very Happy and healthy New year To You and Your Family!
