I had a window seat in the plane and I sat waiting anxiously for the take off. I always like to watch the land disappearing under me gradually and scenes I will see below me.As the plane took off and went higher and higher I did have a lovely view of the fast vanishing land, buildings, bridges, rivers, trees, hills and mountains and I happily clicked off some photos as a remembrance. Here are some photos for your viewing pleasure. As I watched the plane go higher and higher ABBA's song EAGLE came to my mind. I am reproducing the lyrics. If you want to listen to this wonderful song, you can always get in You tube.
Lyrics of ABBA's song EAGLE.
They came flying from far away, now I'm under their spell
I love hearing the stories that they tell
They've seen places beyond my land and they've found new horizons
They speak strangely but I understand
And I dream I'm an eagle
And I dream I can spread my wings
Flying high, high, I'm a bird in the sky
I'm an eagle that rides on the breeze
High, high, what a feeling to fly
Over mountains and forests and seas
And to go anywhere that I please
As all good friends we talk all night, and we fly wing to wing
I have questions and they know everything
There's no limit to what I feel, we climb higher and higher
Am I dreaming or is it all real?
Is it true I'm an eagle?
Is it true I can spread my wings?
Flying high, high, I'm a bird in the sky (I'm an eagle)
I'm an eagle that rides on the breeze
High, high, what a feeling to fly (what a feeling)
Over mountains and forests and seas
And to go anywhere that I please
And I dream I'm an eagle
And I dream I can spread my wings
Flying high, high, I'm a bird in the sky (I'm an eagle)
I'm an eagle that rides on the breeze
High, high, what a feeling to fly (what a feeling)
Over mountains and forests and seas
High, high, I'm a bird in the sky (I'm an eagle)
I'm an eagle that rides on the breeze
High, high, what a feeling to fly (what a feeling)
Over mountains and forests and seas
And to go anywhere that I please
Brilliant Post Joseph, Loved the words of Abba's song also the excellent photographs.
ReplyDeleteIt's always a pleasure coming to your blog I know I will be in for a treat.
Take care.
Yvonne.
nice. thanks for taking us on that trip with you..i felt the whoop int he pit of my stomach as we took off...its the going up that gets me for some reason...not the coming down....
ReplyDeleteGreat journey, Joseph, literally on the wings of a song. Your pictures turned out well. Because of the hassle of flying ... airport chaos mainly, these days I rarely fly but I always like to watch the view. There's something magical about soaring over the tiny buildings and working out which roads lead to where.
ReplyDeleteJoe, photos are very well shot. It's like Superman's " Up, Up and Away !"
ReplyDeleteVery cool Joseph thank you.

ReplyDeleteHello Joseph,
ReplyDeleteWhere were you heading to? :-)
Thanks for those pictures
ReplyDeleteand the Abba Song
Took me back to my school days :)
How lucky the eagle is-
to soar so high always
The view from above blots
out the ugliness of even
the most crowded cities
Only the beauty is visible
from the sky/
I especially love the view
of the ocean dotted by the ships
with the city lights twinkling
amidst the wispy clouds.
Beautiful thoughts when you are flying without your own wings. Photographs are beautiful too, as usual. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGreat images Mr JP.
ReplyDeleteIts a wonderful feeling to look down to earth from such a height. Your whole perspective of the world changes. Everything seems so small and puny.
I like Abba

ReplyDeletewhat a great post . I used to listen to my parents ABBA records when i was a small girl. I remember what it felt like when i went on a plane, it has a sense of freedom in the sky,so i'd like to think. wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful aerial shots.
ReplyDeleteABBA and BoneyM are my favorite.
Good ones.
ReplyDeleteNothing like clicking pictures from the sky.
And yes Abba's songs are eternal.
I think there is yet to be a band group so poised, clean and famous as them.
